As a copywriter, I LOVE when my clients have a Showit website. Because I just KNOW their final design is going to be so good! And there’s not much that makes us copywriters smile more than seeing our words come to life through beautiful website design. I’d almost go so far as to say I only specialize in copywriting for Showit websites, but that would be exclusionary, and that’s against my core values.
So for now, I’m just going to use this post to gush about it and share some examples of copywriting on Showit websites in the wild.
Showit is a website design platform that allows you to design beautiful websites, no code required.
Its easy-to-use drag-and-drop platform is the solution to all of your technical web design problems.
And I don’t say that lightly. Once you get the hang of it, Showit truly is easy to use, even for the non-technical set (like me).
Which is great, because even if you work with a professional to design your site at first, you’ll still want to make updates to it on your own later.
And having a user-friendly platform makes it so much more likely that you’ll actually make the edits you want to make. Rather than just letting them stay on your to-do list week after week…
True story: I used to have a WordPress site that was so out of date for over a year because I lacked the skills to redesign it how I wanted. (Until I switched to Showit, of course.) I’m sure I don’t have to tell you how much that hurt.
Okay, back to copywriting!
As I mentioned above, there’s not much that makes a copywriter’s heart sing more than seeing our words shine on a beautifully designed website.
Showit is a highly versatile web design platform that can work really well across a wide range of industries. That said, it’s especially popular among creatives. Businesses whose audiences value aesthetics and design often gravitate toward Showit for its nearly limitless creative flexibility and customization options.
(As a copywriter for creatives and coaches, that tends to be my audience too, so lucky for me, most of my clients use Showit 😉)
Since many of my clients use Showit, I’ve seen firsthand how strong copy and thoughtful design work together on this platform. Here are a few favorites:
Nikki is a Wisconsin-based wedding and family photographer who needed a new website to reflect her years of experience in the industry and her unique personality. Nikki is so down-to-earth and loves working with couples and families who are the same, so the copy and design on her new site needed to reflect that.
Among lots of other unique moments on her site, her homepage begins with the coolest animation you’ll ever see.
In her About section, we wrote about how everywhere she goes, Nikki is always studying the light. She’s been a photographer for over 15 years, and it’s a huge part of her identity. So her designer brought this concept to life through this custom feature that hits visitors as soon as they land on her site.
Riley Loves Lulu is a wedding planning company in the Bay Area, California. They’re all incredibly passionate about serving their couples with intention and heart, so that needed to come through in both the copy and design. They also take a unique approach where, as a team of planners, they each take on their own weddings, while still collaborating with eachother on every celebration.
So, because of this, it was important to me that their About page not only spoke about the two founders, but about each of the team members individually as well. I wrote a fun getting-to-know-you section with old Cosmo Magazine-style quizzes for each of them, followed up with the message that, while they each have their own individual interests, they all share the same values of creating the best experience possible for their couples.
Their designer absolutely killed it with this section, as well as the entire site!
Carrie is a Seattle-based hair stylist who specializes in high-quality hair extensions and helping her clients achieve their perfect blonde. Her Showit website project differs from the first two I’ve shared here because hers was designed from a template!
There are SO many Showit templates available to choose from, and because the platform is so easy to navigate, it’s definitely possible to customize them on your own. However, the process can be pretty involved, so many people opt to hire a designer to help. That’s what Carrie did, and I absolutely love the job her designer did customizing her template with her new branding and copy.

Website copy and design go hand-in-hand, and finding the right professional team for your project makes all the difference in the success of your new site! So, here are some of my favorite Showit designers (who all, by the way, offer brand design in addition to web design):
If you’re planning a website redesign—or starting from scratch—make sure to write your copy before diving into design. It’s the key to a smoother process and a more strategic end result.
And if you’re ready to take your Showit site to the next level with clear, conversion-focused messaging, I’d love to help!
